CAI

The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) Benchmarking Scheme for aerials has been developed to categorise the minimum standards for the technical performance of domestic TV aerials based on the specific requirements for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) reception.

Conformance to the minimum standards is determined by independent measurement against a technical performance specification.

The benchmarking scheme covers the aerial only and does not cover the complete aerial installation or installation practice.

Full details of the Benchmarking criteria are available in the document 'CAI-DTG Guidelines for the use of Benchmarked Aerials', which can be downloaded from www.cai.org.uk [CLICK HERE]

Digital Tick

The digital switchover, which is a scheduled transition of analogue transmissions to digital transmissions, will happen between 2008 - 2012. Television services in the UK will go completely digital, TV region by TV region.

The 'Digital Tick' logo is a certification mark, launched as part of the 'digital switchover certification mark scheme' in 2004 and is being promoted by both Digital UK and the Government.

If the logo is displayed with a product under the licence, it confirms that it is designed to meet certain technical standards and will provide access to the digital equivalents of the television services being withdrawn at switchover.
